E. F. HIGGINS III MONA ISSUE STAMP SHEET

E.F. Higgins III (b.1949) is an American mail artist, painter, printmaker and artistamp creator active mainly in New York City who got involved in the movement in 1974. He created his own zip code (10000), an extremely difficult task, and named it Doo-Da Post, a name that came from a line in a Stephen Foster song “Camptown Races” and connotes to him a happiness at working. Higgins works mainly with portraits (and self-portraits) in a medium format made specifically to reduce with the help of a color copier (the Xerox 6500 to be exact) for artistamps.
